Well, apparently not Nellie darling! After a little bit of crying when he left at the airport this morning, she's been having a ball without either of us!
After playing games at home for a bit, my mom took her to a local garden centre that has a petting zoo. They also wandered around the garden centre for a bit. Then it was back home to wander around the garden, and then off to sleep with minimal fuss. So far, so good!
She even put her arms up to my step-dad for him to pick her up this morning. That's a first!
I hope the rest of their day is as good as this morning was, but in any event it seems that our fears were totally unwarranted and she's content and settled. Thank God!
